Smithsonian Online

Recently Mike Austin and Tim Shields of Hardshell Labs, Inc. were interviewed for an article by Smithsonian Online’s Samantha Schipani. She was particularly interested in our ideas for conservation games involving internet players. Of course, the emphasis was on desert tortoises but our view is that the progress we are making toward the goal of games to save the tortoise will ultimately serve as a template for much wider application of the idea. We are trying to create game-changing games and coverage like we just got from Smithsonian can only help the effort. We are grateful to Sam for her work on the article and to all of the Hardshell Heroes who are making this all happen. You know who you are and we are thrilled to be working with you.
